SMART BOARD FUNDAMENTALS

The SMART Board Fundamentals workshop is designed for novice SMART Board users, or users who have not attended an in-depth SMART professional development workshop.
An experienced teacher leads the full day course that accepts a maximum of seven participants. Each attendee has access to a laptop computer running SMART Notebook software and a SMART Board.
SMART Fundamentals focuses on:
- An overview of interactive learning and student engagement
- Operation of the SMART Board
- Discussion of learning styles and how the SMART Board can engage students
- Using the SMART Board with web sites
- Working with other computer applications
- Introducing SMART Notebook software
- Using the SMART Board a teaching and learning tool
- Organizing a SMART Notebook file
- Accessing resources in the Educators’ Gallery
- Creating your own learning objects
- Managing SMART Notebook files
- Accessing, searching and downloading SMART lessons
- Starting points for using the SMART Board and Notebook software
